HOPE worldwide and the American Red Cross: Helping Millions In January of 2008, HOPE worldwide and the American Red Cross began a partnership that has gone on to change the lives of millions of people. In a year and a half, we have seen the country through hurricanes, floods and much more. But our ability to change lives together is far greater than it is apart.
Together, we have:
- Rebuilt homes and lives after Hurricanes Ike and Gustav
- Mobilized hundreds of volunteers to the Gulf Coast
- Donated blood to those in dire need
- Distributed vital fire safety information to hundreds of homes
According to the American Red Cross' website: The critical preparation and response efforts of the American Red Cross required collaboration with local, state and federal governments, as well as with a number of nonprofit partner organizations that share our commitment to serving disaster-affected communities. One such partner during the Hurricanes Ike and Gustav relief operations was HOPE worldwide, which deployed 800 volunteers to Texas and Louisiana to help provide food and shelter.1 As our work grows, we will continue to save lives and rebuild hope to everyone in need. Help us change our world for those in need. Support our programs.
