HOPE worldwide and the American Red Cross:
Helping Millions

In January of 2008, HOPE worldwide and the American Red Cross began a partnership that has gone on to change the lives of millions of people. In a year and a half, we have seen the country through hurricanes, floods and much more. But our ability to change lives together is far greater than it is apart.

Together, we have:

• Rebuilt homes and lives after Hurricanes Ike and Gustav
• Mobilized hundreds of volunteers to the Gulf Coast
  
• Donated blood to those in dire need
• Distributed vital fire safety information to hundreds of homes
  

According to the American Red Cross' website:

The critical preparation and response efforts of the American Red Cross required collaboration with local, state and federal governments, as well as with a number of nonprofit partner organizations that share our commitment to serving disaster-affected communities. One such partner during the Hurricanes Ike and Gustav relief operations was HOPE worldwide, which deployed 800 volunteers to Texas and Louisiana to help provide food and shelter.¹

As our work grows, we will continue to save lives and rebuild hope to everyone in need.
