Our New Partner in Singapore: adidas

July 10, 2009 marked a special day for HOPE worldwide Singapore and adidas Singapore. Together, we launched our HOPE for Youth programs and adidas announced partnerships across five countries in South East Asia - Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.

Mr Michael Binger, Managing Director, adidas AREA South East Asia; Mr. Jing Tan, Managing Director, TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company (TMAG) AREA South East Asia; Ms. Lee Phui Fong, Country Manager, adidas Singapore Pte Ltd. and Ms. Aurakanda Attavipach, Director of Human Resources, adidas AREA South East Asia graciously honored our partnership launch with their presence.

Excitement filled the air as the 40 children eagerly entered - all geared up in their sports attire to meet adidas and HOPE worldwide employees and volunteers. Joyce Tan, Country Director for HOPE worldwide Singapore and Ms. Lee Phui Fong, Country Manager for adidas Singapore Pte Ltd., each gave a short welcome speech. Afterwards, adidas presented HOPE worldwide Singapore with a framed autographed jersey.

Spirits were high as each child was paired up with an adidas staff buddy and headed out to the courts for soccer, basketball and running clinics. The children were thrilled to have a chance to try out all the activities as well as using the soccer balls, basketballs and even basketball nets adidas so generously donated.

It was not long before everyone had to stop for the day. But the children’s excitement did not fade as adidas presented each child with a bag filled with products and balloons!
