| An Opportunity to Learn at Moscow's Family Center  Moscow, Russia: Nikita’s parents were one of the first families who came to the Family Center, a program established by HOPE worldwide to provide support programs for Moscow’s poor and needy. The couple explained that because Nikita is blind and cannot hear or speak well, they had been searching desperately for a place where their son could study and learn about the world around him.
Since there are no free schools for blind children in Moscow and they could not afford to pay for special education, the family turned to the Family Center for hope. Nikita now comes to the Center regularly and his mother notes, “Nikita likes to come to the Family Center very much. Suddenly Nikita has the opportunity to learn about the world and make friends."
