A Life Transformed
Kenny was a law student that got completely wrapped up in drinking and drugs. He dropped out of school and continued his destructive cycle, destroying relationships, jobs and his health.

Download our newest newsletter to read about how Kenny transformed his life. After hitting rock bottom, Kenny came to ODAAT. Today, this is his message to people with drug and alcohol problems:

“Change seems so hard, fear of change is sometimes even bigger than the fear of death. But the life which I am living today, which seemed so far away just a short time ago is real, and it’s happening. It could happen for you too.”

Helping People Through Life's Pitfalls
HOPE worldwide UK helping people who are disadvantagedTsion came to London from Liverpool after being granted leave to remain in the UK. She didn’t know anyone in Liverpool and was made homeless when her support from the National Asylum Support Service (NASS) came to an end. She stayed with friends in London but was asked to leave as the landlord didn’t permit extra people in the accommodation. She then slept rough in Victoria for 5 days before being referred to HOPE worldwide by The Refugee Council.

She was frail and very scared when Lavern (Moving On mentoring programme manager) first met her. She came onto the mentoring scheme in the hope of finding a job, and also because she wanted to improve her English.

She achieved her goals with the support of her mentor Sue. Within the first 4 months of their relationship, Tsion got into a college to study English and before the end of their relationship she also got a job!
