G4S Siksha School for the children of Sangam Vihar
A new door of opportunity was opened up for the children of Sangam Vihar, one of the largest slums of Asia, when the G4S Shiksha School was inaugurated on April 15, 2010. G4S, whose professionalism and high standards are well known, has come forward to show its genuine care for the underprivileged children by providing this wonderful building.

New school in Siksha brings new opportunity to children in slumThis new spacious building is a blessing for the children of the area who share their cramped living space with almost 5-6 members of their family. But here they can learn, play or just behave like little children. They have been provided with beautiful blue coloured uniforms and are daily given a nutritious mid-day meal. Their bright and colourful classrooms are perfect for the lessons of the day which are peppered with stories, songs and activities. The children will also be trained in computers!

The first month has seen 60 new children joining their classes; 30 students in the Kindergarten and 30 students in the 1st standard. HOPE worldwide is happy to collaborate with G4S in providing education; now more children from Sangam Vihar can enjoy a wonderful learning experience.

U.S. Ambassador to India inspired by visit to HOPEww program
US Ambassador to India Timothy Roemer recently visited HOPE worldwide India's USAID "Chotton Ki Asha" program in Delhi.

In describing his visit to Chotton Ki Asha, Ambassador Roemer said,
"All dressed in bright colored orange, green, purple, and blue sarees, they conveyed moving and emotional stories about how a USAID sponsored program, in partnership with the government of Delhi, has transformed their lives. Through maternal health programs, vocational education, and microenterprise loans, they have a new and hopeful life. Now, they want to do this for others and teach neighbors about polio immunization, how to read, and how to sew on a machine."
