Africa has been ravaged in recent decades by armed conflicts and disease. During the last 25 years, a worldwide epidemic of HIV/AIDS has developed and strongly affected the continent. UNICEF predicts that within 10 years, there will be 26 million orphans in Africa. Serving the Children
The KenyaKids program serves children who live in poverty resulting in a compromised nutritional and health status. The program helps support children in need in Nairobi, Kenya by providing nutritional food packets, medical care, clothing (including school uniforms) and school books and supplies. The program is designed to produce measurable benefits to the children in need. Your Support
You can help support this important work in with a gift of $30 a month to the KenyaKids program. In return, you will receive at least semi-annual updates about the children being served. The children pictured are just a small sample of those participating in the KenyaKids program. The students are typically 15 years of age and younger, living in poverty-ridden and destitute areas, deprived of life’s most basic necessities. Contact Us
If you would like to become a pen pal, to one of these children, a one-year sponsorship is required. Please contact Tom Owili, our KenyaKids representative, by email at kenyakids@hopewwkenya.org. In your email please include: - the name of the person who will be corresponding with the child
- your email address
- mailing address
- and phone number.
When sponsoring more than one pen pal, you may also specify your preferred gender and/or age of the sibling groups. Your KenyaKids representative will then confirm your eligibility for the pen pal program and proceed to select the neediest children for correspondence. After the selection has been made, you will be contacted by your KenyaKids representative who will provide you with additional pen pal information.
