During a difficult time for the economy, the members of the Boston Church of Christ are making this time of year a Season of Service and emphasizing the spirit of giving in their church planning. The Boston Church of Christ kicked off their Season of Service on October 19, as more than 1,400 volunteers came together to celebrate the 3rd annual Harvest 5K Fundraiser. Over $43,000 was collected that day to help support three local Boston charities and the work of HOPE worldwide! Making the Season of Service a Success Church plans include providing opportunities for each member to serve during the next three months:
November - Supporting local food pantries and contributing toward Thanksgiving food baskets December - Christmas celebrations for foster teenagers January - MLK Day of Service and Celebration with the American Red Cross and keynote speech from retired NFL star Mack Strong
Strong Aid and Assistance Program In addition to the Season of Service, each ministry has taken a personal responsibility to support those in need both in and outside of the church through: Supporting the church’s annual Harvest 5k fundraising event Providing assistance to members and families in need through a monthly benevolence contribution Contributing to and supporting the church’s adoption fund that assists members in the adoption process
