Fiji (December 4-19)

Join us for the first ever HOPE Youth Corps to the beautiful country of Fiji. Amidst the natural beauty is a largely rural population where many live in poverty with limited access to health care, education and social services. The two week program begins with a weekend orientation in Nadi and then a road trip across the main island to the capital city, Suva.

In Suva we will be working on a variety of activities based around an orphanage which will include: conducting classroom teaching with the children, painting various parts of the school, setting up a new library as well as spending play time with the children. In the evenings we will be with the church in Suva, encouraging the different ministries.  On the second week we will move to a village outside Suva for a community service program. This will include different projects working with the locals: the construction of a play area, painting, light building work, playing and reading with the children plus immersing ourselves in the culture by living in the village. We hope you can join us and be a part of a once in a lifetime experience in Fiji!

Note:  If you are a member of the SPA churches (South Pacific and Australia), you need to apply through HOPE worldwide Australia. Contact Jared Vassallo (jared.vassallo@gmail.com) for instructions. For anyone outside of the SPA churches, you need to apply through the regular HYC application link.

Price:  $1,260 plus flights

* Philippines (December 17-30)

In November 2013, Typhoon Haiyan devastated parts of the Philippines. Since then HOPE worldwide Philippines have worked hard at rehabilitating communities affected by that disaster. During the two weeks of this HYC, after landing in Cebu, participants will serve at the HWW Center of HOPE in Daanbatayan, on the coast near Cebu. In this beautiful location, the HYC volunteers will work with the local fishermen’s and farmers’ communities, reaching out, helping, renovating, etc. A fair amount of time will also be spent with the local church and the campus ministry.

Price: $1,180 plus flights

You are required to pay a $300 deposit in order for us to process your application. Once you are accepted to the program, that deposit becomes non-refundable and is credited toward your participation fee.
