INCREASING THE ODDS of Children in Foster Care:
Finding “Forever” Families
- Graduating From High School
- Succeeding In College/Career
- Maintaining A Healthy Lifestyle
HOPE worldwide Southern California is mission to help children who are “permanently placed” in foster care (meaning they will not be reunited with their own families.) We are focused on Increasing The Odds of adoption into a stable, loving family. Increasing The Odds of graduation. Increasing The Odds of a bright future.
Why? Because, based on the statistics, their “odds” are terrible. For example, 70% of youth permanently placed in foster care express interest in attending college yet only 10% actually enroll. Click here to learn more.
How We're Increasing the Odds

Increasing the Odds by Prayer
We have teamed up with the Department of Children and Family Services and the Los Angeles Church of Christ to highlight the needs of children.
We hope to inspire people to consider becoming adoptive parents.en and teens currently living in foster care, without a permanent, stable and loving home. Each month Freddie Mac Foundation’s Wednesday’s Child with Christine Devine (KTTV FOX 11) is shown at church services throughout Southern California where nearly 3,000 individuals pray for the featured child or sibling set to be adopted and cared for.
We also are working with volunteers and foster care agencies to give teenagers who are “aging out of the system” the opportunity to make a connection with a caring adult who can help with the transition into young adulthood and independent living.
