We are excited to host the HOPEww Volunteer Corps in Bolivia in 2024! You will experience the beauty and culture of La Paz city! It was voted one of the “Seven Most Marvelous Cities in the World'' because of its amazing beauty and high altitude within the Andes mountains.

Throughout our 11 years of service, we noted that educational opportunities remain the most desperate need within Bolivia, and the challenge of accessing these limited opportunities and educational resources has greatly increased due to the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Bolivia remains at the bottom of Latin American countries in several areas of human development, including education. Only 41% of Bolivia’s population will complete a high school education. Only 25% of these graduates will go on to pursue further education.

HOPEww Bolivia’s focus is in the areas of education, mentoring, and empowerment. During the HVC, we will engage together in a variety of initiatives that support and empower vulnerable children and families. HVC participants will take part in existing sustainable community outreach programs, e.g., create and provide reading activities for materially disadvantaged children within inner-city preschools, as well as host our monthly Park Day for families and orphans.

Bolivia, with her 12 million people, remains the most materially poor country in South America. Although there have been some improvements in the vital areas of health and education, the statistics about Bolivia’s material poverty and its crippling effect on her people are still very sobering.
