Hope Worldwide. Bringing Hope. Changing Lives.

Daytona Beach Volunteer Corps

(July 26 - August 4)

FULL

What?

We are thrilled to partner with Urban Surf 4 Kids Florida and come side by side with 30+ children in the foster care system. We will provide mentoring and teaching on how to paddle board and surf.

You don’t have to be an expert swimmer to join this program. Water is great therapy for children who have gone through difficult circumstances. You will bond with young people while enjoying the Florida sun. This is the fifth edition of this very popular Volunteer Corps.

This program has been conveniently planned so that parents who attend the ILC in Orlando can send their teens to this Volunteer Corps. The program starts before the leadership meetings and ends the morning of August 4, the day the Youth and Family conference starts in Orlando, which is very close to Daytona Beach. Participants can make their way from Daytona to Orlando on the morning of August 4 before the conference program starts. We may be able to arrange a shuttle if needed.

Why?

In Volusia County, the number of kids in the foster care system has nearly doubled in the last two years. It is the desire of this HVC to give these children a summer to remember.

Who?

Service to children in the foster care system through mentoring, training, and fun.

AUDIENCE: All-generations program. Minimum age 15. Families with younger teens or preteens welcome.
Price: $1,155 (not including flights)

Registration and payment deadline: June 10
