Hope Worldwide. Bringing Hope. Changing Lives.

Ecuador Volunteer Corps

(July 10 - July 24)

The volunteers will spend the first couple of days in the capital, Quito, then travel to the rural area of Cunuyacu, in the beautiful mountains about three hours away from Quito. They will engage with the local community for the rest of the two weeks and support the CULTIVA program, which is a sustainable agriculture project.

Building on what the 2022 and 2023 Volunteer Corps and HOPEww Ecuador have already started, the participants will work with the community and further develop the CULTIVA program. The goal is for the community to learn to grow and market their own food.

We will begin the new “FAMILY CULTIVATION PROJECT” with the most vulnerable families in the community by building small greenhouses next to their homes. This will help reduce the existing malnutrition rates, because in the region it is impossible to grow food outdoors due to the low temperatures.

We will get to plant the seeds by sharing a special moment with the local families. You will be able to get to know their indigenous cultural wealth because we will be working with them in their homes.

Anyone with agriculture or business background skills would be helpful, but anyone with a willing heart can serve. There will be plenty of other activities with the local children and families.
