Alaska Volunteer Corps

(August 2-15)

Mount Denali, North America’s tallest mountain, provides a stunning backdrop for the HOPE worldwide Volunteer Corps experience in rural Alaska. Gateway to the Arctic (G2A), a 100-acre retreat and agricultural camp in Talkeetna, serves as a hub for community engagement, sustainable agriculture, and service. Volunteers will experience life in rural Alaska through hands-on agricultural activities, learn about sustainable farming and crop production, and serve residents with humility, respect, and a willingness to learn.

Service opportunities may include assisting at the local food bank, caring for Iditarod sled dog puppies, supporting elderly Alaskans, maintaining wilderness trails, and helping local businesses in the Talkeetna community. Volunteers may also contribute to ongoing projects at Gateway to the Arctic, supporting the camp’s mission of fostering personal growth, community connection, and environmental stewardship.

Beyond service, participants will have opportunities to explore Alaska’s remarkable landscapes and share in the adventure of discovering the Last Frontier. Together, we will build relationships, support the local community, and strengthen a culture of service and leadership. We look forward to welcoming volunteers who are ready to serve, learn, and experience all that rural Alaska offers.
