What?

The Tijuana Community Service Brigade (CSB) is a four-day intensive community service. All volunteers, medical and non-medical, play an essential role in care and empowerment. The CSB gives the communities we serve free access to doctors, dentists, nutritionists, medicine, and other healthy living essentials. Improving health outcomes improves educational outcomes as well as employment. The CSB aims to serve the same communities every six months. The encounter between community and volunteers creates an empowering environment filled with meaningful connections.

Why?

Sustainable services must be consistent. The CSB aims to serve the same communities every six months. Improving health outcomes improves educational outcomes as well as employment. Commitment to the communities communicates care, love, and restores the dignity of the personhood, family, and community. Our dedication aims to be consistent and considerate. The CSB services generate opportunities to establish other empowering programs in the near future, such as English language classes (ESOL), art resiliency, and Early Childhood Development (ECD).

Who?

One of the purposes of the Community Service Brigade is to establish a reciprocal relationship. Therefore, every Community Service Brigade in Tijuana serves the same two communities. The first community is Casa del Migrante, a shelter dedicated to helping migrants in their reintegration back into society. The second is the families in the neighborhood where a community center is being built, the Center of HOPE Tijuana. We do all this in partnership with the Tijuana Church of Christ. The encounter between community and volunteers creates an empowering environment filled with meaningful connections for all involved.
