World Water Day Campaign

Help HOPE worldwide Provide Clean Water Around the World!

World Water Day is a United Nations day of observance that highlights the importance of clean drinking water for people all around the world.

For the last 30 years, governments, nonprofits, and communities have united on March 22nd to advocate for clean water access for all.

HOPE worldwide supplies clean drinking water as a first response during disasters, as well as by distributing water filters to many vulnerable people around the world including communities in the Philippines, Nepal, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Zambia.

Watch the video below to see how your donation prevents illness and saves lives in remote areas where people do not have access to clean water.

In a 2022 project in Papua New Guinea, where clean drinking water is not accessible to thousands of families in rural areas, 300 households were provided with a bucket water-filter system and trained on how to properly use and maintain the filters.

This distribution and training led to clean water access for several hundred people in the area.

Before the distribution, many families had repeated cases of waterborne diseases - over 700 cases in the village in one year.

In the 11 months after the training and implementation of these filter systems, only 1% of the households reported a case of waterborne illnesses. That's a 99% reduction in a single year!

Filters like the ones provided in Papua New Guinea prevent waterborne illnesses and allow people (primarily women and children) to spend more time in school and pursuing economic development opportunities, rather than spending their time walking miles to draw water from wells that are often contaminated.

Last year, our amazing global community helped supply 2,400 water filters, resulting in tens of thousands of people having access to clean, drinkable water.

Your gift goes beyond quenching thirst, it changes the economic trajectory of families and communities. Help us exceed our goal of $25,000 this month by donating today.

Together, we are changing the world, one act of compassion at a time.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and brother, Dave Tomlinson. Dave was a beloved part of the HOPE worldwide family who served in many capacities throughout his time with us, most recently as Chief Operating Officer before his retirement. He also played an important role in our Global Disaster Response and Community Service Brigades teams, serving alongside his wife, Angela. More than the roles he held, Dave was a cherished friend whose warmth, kindness, and genuine spirit touched so many people. His care for others was evident in the way he served, led, and built relationships with people around the world. Dave had a remarkable ability to encourage, uplift, and connect with people, reflecting God's love in both his leadership and his friendships. We will miss Dave deeply and are grateful for the many ways he gave of himself to HOPE worldwide and to the amazing people we get to serve. We’re holding Angela and their family close in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Dave’s presence will be deeply missed, but his faith, love, and example will remain in our hearts forever and his legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
