2019 GSI and HVC Host Site Applications Available Now!

HOPEww Volunteer Corps • June 30, 2018

We are now accepting applications to become a GSI member and to host a HVC in 2019!

Two exciting opportunities for 2019 available - apply to become a Global Service Intern or to host a HVC/HYC program in your city! Read below to find out more about both programs!

Global Service Internship

The Global Service Internship (GSI) aims to promote and strengthen the HOPE Youth Corps/HOPEww Volunteer Corps program, and all GSI members are qualified students from around the world who have previous HYC experience. They work under the supervision and direction of the HOPE worldwide International Volunteer Programs Department, as well as the HYC Advisory Committee and their respective HYC/HVC site coordinators to plan and develop their individual HYC programs. GSI members receive personalized training in program design and evaluation, non-profit management, communications and marketing as well as spiritual enrichment through an emphasis on Biblical evangelism.

The GSI selection process is also very competitive. We expect large numbers of applicants from all over the world. We only have a limited number of spots available (14 total: 7 men and 7 women). GSI Applications are due by Friday, August 10 . Applications received after the deadline will not be considered. To learn more about the GSI program, view current GSI bios and to apply for the GSI 2019-2020 program, please click here: hopeww.org/gsi .

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and brother, Dave Tomlinson. Dave was a beloved part of the HOPE worldwide family who served in many capacities throughout his time with us, most recently as Chief Operating Officer before his retirement. He also played an important role in our Global Disaster Response and Community Service Brigades teams, serving alongside his wife, Angela. More than the roles he held, Dave was a cherished friend whose warmth, kindness, and genuine spirit touched so many people. His care for others was evident in the way he served, led, and built relationships with people around the world. Dave had a remarkable ability to encourage, uplift, and connect with people, reflecting God's love in both his leadership and his friendships. We will miss Dave deeply and are grateful for the many ways he gave of himself to HOPE worldwide and to the amazing people we get to serve. We’re holding Angela and their family close in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Dave’s presence will be deeply missed, but his faith, love, and example will remain in our hearts forever and his legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
