HOPE worldwide in the UK (H ww UK) is seeking applications for the role of Chief Executive.

HOPEww UK currently has 4 main activities:

  • Homeless Services (Two Step) which helps homeless people to access accommodation – mostly in the private rented sector. It helps about 300 people per year find housing.
  • Recovery Services (ODAAT) which helps men suffering from drug or alcohol addiction.
  • International Development which raises funds for H ww programs in other countries, especially in the developing world.
  • Encouraging volunteering within our own programs and for other charitable organizations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a new Chief Executive who will help H ww UK move forward in several vital areas.

We are looking for someone with a deep Christian faith and a passionate heart for the disadvantaged and vulnerable. Someone who will be able to enthuse and inspire both church leaders and Christians to make practical outreach an integral part of their Christian life.

A crucial part of the role will involve strengthening the connection with the church that gave birth to the charity in order to develop more meaningful voluntary opportunities for Christians to serve those in need.

The successful candidate will also have the skill set to oversee the two established and successful programs of Two Step and ODAAT by working effectively with a supportive board and an experienced team of staff and volunteers. In addition, they will actively develop the support for international programs and develop new funding streams to support and grow our work in the UK and beyond.

For a fuller job description and details of how to apply please e-mail Jane Whitworth at jane.whitworth@hopeworldwide.org.uk. The closing date for applications is Friday 7 th June .

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and brother, Dave Tomlinson. Dave was a beloved part of the HOPE worldwide family who served in many capacities throughout his time with us, most recently as Chief Operating Officer before his retirement. He also played an important role in our Global Disaster Response and Community Service Brigades teams, serving alongside his wife, Angela. More than the roles he held, Dave was a cherished friend whose warmth, kindness, and genuine spirit touched so many people. His care for others was evident in the way he served, led, and built relationships with people around the world. Dave had a remarkable ability to encourage, uplift, and connect with people, reflecting God's love in both his leadership and his friendships. We will miss Dave deeply and are grateful for the many ways he gave of himself to HOPE worldwide and to the amazing people we get to serve. We’re holding Angela and their family close in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Dave’s presence will be deeply missed, but his faith, love, and example will remain in our hearts forever and his legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
